7. **Choose Window** ⇒ **Raster Images** and then locate **Photoshop Raster Images** (Figure 4-1).

8. **Choose Flatten Image Folder in the Photoshop folder window (refer to Figure4-1)**.
A drop-down menu provides options for organizing the images in the folder.
If you chose to flatten an image folder with many layers, then it’s a good idea to name and organize the layers before you begin. You can still see them later if you flatten the image, but you can’t edit the layers anymore.
9. **Click OK**.
Photoshop opens the folder of images and inserts them all into the Photoshop workspace. You see a preview of each image when you open it.
10. **With the pencil tool (P) (Figure 4-2)**, _lasso_ (circled in Figure 4-3) the image of the portrait you want to retouch.
Point to a spot inside the image that you want to remove unwanted elements. Press and hold the Shift key to make a selection large enough to include the unwanted stuff, as shown in Figure 4-4. Then you can press Delete to erase the selection.
